PCD extrusion dies are extrusion molds that utilize polycrystalline diamond (PCD) as their key working component. Polycrystalline diamond is a synthetic superhard material formed by sintering micron-sized diamond particles with a binder under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. It possesses the extremely high wear resistance, hardness, and thermal conductivity of natural diamond, while also offering the excellent mechanical strength and toughness similar to that of cemented carbide.
Product Types
1. PCD Extrusion Tip Die
Made of polycrystalline diamond as the core or monolithic die head, offering extremely high hardness and wear resistance. Designed for long-term continuous production, especially suitable for high-strength extrusion of wires and cables.
2. PCD Nib Extrusion Die
Uses a small PCD nib embedded into a larger die assembly, facilitating easy replacement and maintenance, reducing downtime and operating costs.
3. Extrusion Guide Die (Extrusion Guide Drawing Die)
Mainly used for wire guiding and extrusion molding in cable manufacturing. The die core can be made of PCD, natural diamond, or tungsten steel. The steel body can be equipped with PCD diamond blades to achieve excellent wear‑resistant guiding performance.
Wire and cable industry: manufacturing of telephone communication cables, fiber optic cables, power cables, ultra‑high voltage submarine cables, as well as wire and cable extrusion processes.
Metal drawing processing: drawing of non‑ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, nickel, as well as stainless steel and alloy wires.
Pipe manufacturing: extrusion molding of various plastic and rubber pipes.
Ceramic rod extrusion: for forming high‑precision ceramic rods.
Polymer extrusion pelletizing: used on the discharge face of the extruder die plate, in conjunction with pelletizer blades, significantly improving wear life.
