PCD drawing dies use polycrystalline diamond as the core material, sintered from micron-sized diamond particles and a metal binder under high temperature and high pressure. PCD is isotropic (non-directional), has high toughness and excellent impact resistance. Compared with single crystal diamond (MCD), PCD is less prone to cracking along cleavage planes, making it particularly suitable for drawing with high reduction ratios, large-diameter wires, as well as applications involving vibration and impact.
Especially suitable for: Copper wire, aluminum wire, alloy wire, coated welding wire, steel cord, steel strand wire, NiTi (Nickel-Titanium) memory alloy wire, non-circular cross-section wires (square, rectangular), and mass production scenarios requiring multiple re-dressing or re-plating.
